The Idea Village, a nonprofit formalized in 2002, has become the primary driver for business innovation in New Orleans by developing strategic initiatives to support the growth of more than 210 local entrepreneurial ventures. When Katrina hit in 2005, the nonprofit went into high gear to help rebuild the city.

In this talk, sponsored by the Stanford Center for Social Innovation, Tim Williamson, The Idea Village president and cofounder, offers highlights about his organization's genesis and mission, as well as anecdotes about the enterprise's efforts to work with citizens, businesses, and political leaders to spur economic change and growth in New Orleans.
